Tribute
On Saturday April 8, 2017, Mrs. Elizabeth (Erzsebet) Kriston passed away peacefully at Mariposa Gardens with family at her side at the age of 85 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Laszlo of 45 years; her mother and father; 2 brothers and 1 sister and her 1st born daughter at 2 years old.
Elizabeth is survived by daughters Veronika (Barry) and Ellie (John), 4 grandchildren: Jenny, Leslie, Katie and Jake as well as 6 Great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth and Laszlo came to Canada from Hungary in 1957. They settled in Greenwood and had their first daughter Veronika. She then became pregnant with her 2nd daughter in which during that time lost her 1st child and named her 2nd daughter Veronika as well. 7 years later they moved to Osoyoos, purchased a farm and began to build their lives in Canada and then shortly there after she had her 3rd child Elvira. They were orchardists for 40 years.
Elizabeth enjoyed going back to Hungary as often as possible. She was part the Catholic Women’s League of Canada for 36 years and part of the Hungarian club for 52 years.
She also enjoyed her bingo nights and casino trips.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
