Tribute
On Friday May 30, 2014, Mrs. Emma Baier of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at the McKinney Place Extended Care Unit at the age of 90 years.
Emma will be fondly remembered by her loving family including husband Frank Baier; son Peter Baier (Carol Chow); daughter Elizabeth Unger (Terry Shirran); grandchildren Justin and Brandon Unger and their father Jake Unger as well as many extended family and friends.
Emma was in charge of housekeeping at the Avalon Motel in Osoyoos for many years before retirement.
She was a devout Catholic and was very involved with the CWL when she was younger. Emma was the best cook in town. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, singing, playing cards with her grandchildren, and winning at bingo and cribbage.
A memorial mass will be celebrated by Fr. Dave DeSouza at 10:00 A.M. Saturday June 7, 2014 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL will follow in the church lower hall.
