Relation: Friend
My deepest sympathy to the family, I remember George as always being a happy and jolly man when he use to come to the restaurant where I worked. I will miss his infectious smile and the conversations we use to have. May you rest in peace George. My thoughts and prayers are with your daughters and their families during this difficult time.
From: Margo Christie Eckberg
Relation: distant cousin of father & friend
George and my parents Ben & Norma Christie moved to Osoyoos about the same time in the 1980s. They discovered they were 2 or 3 cousins; originally from Scotland. There were many similarities in manner and in looks. We the family got to know both George/Ivy very well and he especially became very dear after my father Ben passed away in 1998 in Rapid City, MB. George/Ivy came to visit us each summer and it was wonderful to have them in our home. On our trips to Osoyoos we always stopped in to see them and spend as much time with them as we could. George was one of a kind, what a wonderful laugh/personality he had. Ivy was very special too. George and my mom, Norma Christie called each other almost every weekend or so, until he got sick. Our thoughts and condolences are with you at this time. May you find peace with this loss. Margo
