Tribute

The family and friends of George Tufnail want to announce his passing April 24, 2016 in Oliver BC at the age of 75. We have lost a great man who fought a courageous battle with an unfair disease yet never gave up. He left this world too young, leaving it a better place having had him in it. He cared more about others than he did himself and was always there to lend a helping hand.

George moved to the Okanagan in the late 1990’s, starting up Merlin’s Laundromat with his late wife Marlene and ending his working career at True Value Hardware. With his cat Mac, he packed up and followed his dreams to a beautiful property in Rock Creek. He was a man of many dreams and aspirations who turned them into reality.

George is survived by family and friends who loved him: sister Pat (Clem); stepson Rick (Kim); stepdaughter Laurie (Alan); son George (Terri); daughter Joanne (Doug); numerous nieces, nephews, grandkids, great-grandchildren, his closest and dearest friend Jen, his True Value cohorts and his Rock Creek community.

 George left us peacefully having been told to carry no regrets and although there is sadness in our minds there is joy in our hearts that he will sing, dance and walk again. We are all so lucky to have called him George, Dad, Papa and friend.

A celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date.
