Gerhild (Geri) Cox

September 25, 1941 - December 1, 2021

Tribute

It is with deep sadness the family of Gerhild (Geri) Cox announce her passing. Geri passed away December 1st, 2021 peacefully at home, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. It would be wrong to say she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. Everyday she fought with bravery, humour and dignity.

Geri grew up in a small town in Germany and moved to Ottawa, Ontario when she was 21 years old where she met her first husband Peter Lange. She eventually made her way to BC and spent her life on Vancouver Island, Langley, Golden and lastly Osoyoos. Geri was an avid reader and loved to watch Jeopardy with her girls. Some of their best memories are from Karaoke nights, “Sunday Fundays” and sitting around the “BS” table at the Moberly Pub. Geri is predeceased by her loving second husband Gilbert Cox (Gil) and survived by her daughters Christine Martins (Glen) and Susan Redekopp (Allan) and grandchildren Kurtis Cloutier, Kaitlin Anderson (Aaron Zandvliet) Brianna Anderson, Kenzie and Taylor Redekopp and her stepchildren, Heather Rosensweet (Aaron), Guy Cox (Ginette) and Paul Cox and step-grandchildren Elliot and Myles Rosensweet, Brendan Cox and Gabriel Cox.

Geri’s family is at peace with knowing she has been reunited with Gil and that they are singing and dancing together in the stars.

Relation: Friend

I’m so sorry to learn of Geri’s passing. I met Gil and Geri when I lived in Golden where we became friends. Geri had a great sense of humour, dearly loved her family, and worked faithfully with Gil every Friday at St. Andrew’s United Church’s Thrift Shop. Generous and kind, Geri will be greatly missed.
