Tribute
On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, our precious mom, Gladys Petreny of Osoyoos passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, at Mariposa Gardens.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill on December 29, 2008.
Gladys will be fondly remembered by her loving family including son Ralph (Isla); daughters Dianne, Donna (Cal) and Lori (Mark); precious grandchildren Mike (Lorina), Ryan (Victoria), Brian (Cassie), Aleshia (Chris), Tarra (Rod), Travis (Matet), Tyson, Corey and Ben; great-grandchildren Sarah, Sidney, Robyn, Isaac, James, Makayla, Brodie, Simon, Leo and Fin.
Gladys and Bill moved to Osoyoos in 1960 from Hope, BC. (where she was crowned May Queen in 1945.)
Gladys was a passionate homemaker and loved to provide the most wonderful Hungarian and Ukrainian meals to her family, friends & a host of children.
Gladys worked at Modern Apparel, was a Charter member of the Osoyoos Golf Club, a member of the Gyro club, volunteered at the Osoyoos Desert Centre and delivered Meals on Wheels.
She loved to spend time with her grandchildren golfing, bowling, playing cards, visiting numerous local beaches & walking far and wide with her precious dog Shadow.
Gladys and Bill loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures in California & Mexico.
Gladys loved her family deeply and will be forever missed by all.

I met Gladys during her recent challenges at Mariposa Gardens. We found our time together pleasant. We both enjoyed the out of doors and a good laugh. I will miss her and remember her fondly.
