Gloria had a smile when we passed while walking our dogs at Haynes Point. Dog Park was also a good spot. we would have a nice chat from time to time. Lovely lady. Gone too soon.

I had the pleasure to cross paths with “the ma’am” while serving in Bosnia in 1998. I chatted with her fairly frequently and both respected and appreciated the time spent with her. My condolences to family and friends. May she rest in peace.

It is with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of Retired Colonel Gloria Richardson.
Colonel Richardson lived a life defined by honour, integrity, service, and professionalism. She served her country with distinction, and those same qualities were reflected in every aspect of her character and leadership. I had the privilege of knowing Gloria through our involvement with the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department, where her presence, wisdom, and steady leadership left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her.
Although soft-spoken, Gloria spoke with authority, conviction, and intelligence. She led not through rank alone, but through example, earning the respect and admiration of those around her. She possessed a remarkable ability to teach and mentor others, generously sharing her knowledge, experience, and perspective. Many of us are better leaders and better people because of the lessons she imparted.
Gloria was selfless in nature and unwavering in her commitment to helping others. Even while facing her own challenges, she remained generous with her time, steadfast in her principles, and willing to stand up for what was right. Her strength of character and dedication to service were truly inspiring.
The Anarchist Mountain community, and all who had the privilege of knowing Gloria, are richer for her contributions and poorer for her loss. Her legacy of service, leadership, mentorship, and compassion will endure in the lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

I am so very sad to hear of this loss to our world. Gloria mentored my strength and confidence to always go boldly forward, and to accept “what is”. I observed her(like a hawk) at every family gathering she attended, my family noted how I inched closer to her as a child, and young adult – sitting by Gloria at any time was a highlight no matter what kind of gathering it was! I boasted of her accomplishments many times through life. We were quite a few years apart, and life took us in all different directions- but we knew where each other were hanging our hats through most decades…It is truly has been an honor to call Gloria my cousin.
No getting mushy here, but sending to hugs to all who loved her.
