The family of Gotam (Andy) Advani sadly announces his passing August 19th, 2011. He was born in India April 18, 1935. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived and lovingly remembered by 3 sisters and 1 brother, his wife Lois, their children Scott (Chadya), Sabrina, Shauna (Lucas) and Stacey as well as 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
His memorial will be held at The Elks Lodge in Oliver, BC on Monday, August 22nd, 2011 at 2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BCCA – British Columbia Cancer Agency, 600 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4E6.

I was very sad to hear that Uncle Andy had passed away. My memories of Uncle Andy are happy ones, filled with days at your acreage, the cabin, the dance floor, even the ditch at the bottom of Mama Laine and Papa Frank’s hill! He taught me to appreciate the law, a career path that I chose as well (if only in an assistant role) which led to many discussions of real estate transactions and tribulations along the way! Every time a Sinatra tune is played or a Herman comic is read, I will smile with never ending love for my Uncle Andy. Please know that you all are in my heart as he will be always be. I love you all.

Your loss is our loss as the Cripps family always considered Andy, Yourself, Scott, Sabrina, Shauna and Stacey as part of our family. Our many Christmas and other family gatherings will always be remembered and cherished. Andy joined the family in 1960 and we never missed a Christmas together except when you were married in India and maybe another Christmas you spent in India, until your move to Oliver. We will always have those memories. Andy was a kind, loyal man to his family and friends and he will be greatly missed. Our love and thoughts are with you all.
