Tribute

On Tuesday, March 1, 2016, Grace Violet Kitchen entered into the presence of her Lord after a lengthy struggle with cancer. Her husband Fred was there to welcome her, along with grandson Aaron.

She will be missed by her children Ann Grover (Dan Stocking) of Dawson Creek, BC; Bill Kitchen (Ila Spalek) of Rock Creek, BC; and Kathy Henley (Ken) of Drayton Valley, AB; grandchildren, Seth, Sarah, Kenan, Rebecca, Alicia, Amaris, Nicole, Craig, and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Vann, Tanisha, Noah, Malaya, Cianna, Peyton, Hudson, Melina, and a soon-to-be-born boy.

Grace was born in Stettler, AB, to Thelma and Eugen Syvertsen, and was the third of eight children. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Doris, brother Gary, and will be missed by her siblings Don, Elsie, Joan, Jim, and Joy.

Fred and Grace were known for their wanderlust and throughout their 56 years together, drove tens of thousands of miles and lived in various locations in BC from Maple Ridge to Fort Saint John, making many friends along the way. Grace was also an avid crocheter and made hundreds of doilies, tablecloths, and baby sets for family, friends, and craft fairs.

In 2002, Grace took the trip of a lifetime, travelling to Norway and Sweden, meeting her paternal aunts, uncles, and cousins for the first time.

A memorial will be held at a future time.
