Harriet Duncalfe

Date of Death: January 28, 2023

Tribute

Harriet is survived by her loving husband, Brian Duncalfe. They were married for over 50 years.

You could always find Harriet outside—in the orchard, in the garden, or playing with the family pets. She found great joy in nature and in animals. She enjoyed life to the fullest and had incredible faith and hope in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in whom she drew her strength. She was a remarkable prayer warrior with such a sweet spirit. Her personality was a light to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all—her friends, her family—everyone whose lives she touched.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Sunnybank Retirement Centre for their excellent care of Harriet and all the love they showed towards her. A special thanks to all the staff including Janice and June in recreation and Tracy, the manager. We always knew Harriet was in good caring hands. And we cannot forget the resident cat, Star who thinks she is the boss of Sunnybank.  Star picked Harriet from day one to be her lifetime buddy, and she was faithfully beside Harriet’s bed side right to the end. A big thank you to all. There are too many caring people to mention by name.

From: Shirley Schneider
Relation: a dear friend

Harriet was a lovely woman of faith, joy, endurance and strength. She was my friend, cut short by ill health. I treasure our times together, boating, swimming and biking.
May God comfort Brian, family and friends with renewed spirit by the Lord’s loving presence.

From: Febriani Alexsin
Relation: Daughter in Jesus

Harriet was a kind and loving soul, she & Brian helped me a lot in my journey of faith since 2017. I will forever be grateful for knowing her. Thank you for your kindness, Harriet. Thank you for always praying for me. My heart breaks for Brian and the rest of their family.

So sorry to hear of her passing, she was such a “light” in the day. Star loved her dearly, and her in return, I’m sure she is missing her immensely.
