From: Larry Baran
Relation: He was "My Uncle Harry"

I extend my heart-felt condolences to my Aunt Lillian and my extended family, with the loss of ‘My Uncle Harry’.

For all my life, Uncle Harry was a part of my extended family … whether we actually got to see each other or not. I always knew that he was there.

I only get to BC to visit my Dad, your Uncle Mike, once or twice a year now because I work up in the NWT, but when we visit … either in person or by telephone … Dad would relate his most recent conversation about his best friend growing up.

Years ago, Dad wrote down some of memories about growing up in Manitoba & moving to BC. It was interesting to see how much of Dad’s life was inter-twined with his older brother, Harry. I know that my Dad will sincerely feel that there is truly “a period at the end of the sentence” now.

It was probably at the my Mom’s funeral, in 1999, when I last saw Uncle Harry. I was also reminded of my own mortality in seeing so many of my aunts & uncles, and how we were all getting older. I vividly remember one thing, though, & that was Uncle Harry’s broad smile. I remember, even as a toddler, that nothing pleased me more than to see that smile because I knew he was going to make me happy … with a kind comment, a fun joke, or just a pleasant visit. I have always assumed it was simply one of the special God-given gifts that only a few of us receive.

I know that you will miss your husband, your father, your grandfather, your great grandfather. But I also know that you will take comfort in the faith & knowledge you will again see him.

May our Heavenly Father bless & comfort you at this time,

Larry (& Janet) Baran

Relation: Relationship - How did you know the deceased?

Losing someone we love is nothing easy, but knowing that we have been able to be a part of the life of that person, we can realize that we are blessed to have been able to share in their life before they went to rest. My sincere condolences. – Revelation 21:4- Jw.Org
