Tribute
On Saturday October 19, 2013, Mr. Harry (Hwy) Wingenback of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at SOGH in Oliver.
He was predeceased by his mother Emma and his father Kasper.
Harry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Blanche of 48 years; his son Grant (Nina) as well as family Edgar (Yolanda), Jim (Cindy) and Shirley (Marty); nieces and nephews Ryan (Krystal), Tonya (Kourosh) and their children Kourosh Jr. and Miley, Tyler (Amanda) and their son Mason, Jessica (Zane), Shawn, Sara (Jenn) and Derek (Marissa).
Hwy will be remembered for his many years of service in the local Napa store in Oliver, which he started in 1973.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at SOGH and Dr. Tarr for all their care and compassion.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the SOGH Palliative Care, 911 McKinney Road, Oliver, BC, V0H 1T3.
A rosary service will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday October 22, 2013. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Harry Clarke at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 23, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.

Dear Blanche- In all the years that I dealt with NAPA in Oliver, you and Harry were my favourite people. Harry always called me ” Potato Jim” as most of the early years were buying parts for Anderson’s Potato farm up on the Res. Harry was only 4 years older than me, but I always thought of him as real friend and a brother to boot. All of us will miss him. Napa has never been the same since the two of you left there. Even though this is a sad time right now, please know that Harry was loved by all your customers and friends. With lots of love from all of us… Potato Jim

Dear Blanche and Family. I know that this is a difficult time and we will all miss Harry so much. He was a great guy who always seemed to be happy and willing to help others. I recall all of the trips to Oliver when he, my Dad and I commuted to work together in the summer months when I was in high school. Harry was so easy to chat with and we had lots of good times together. I’m sorry that I can’t be in Osoyoos today for the service. I am thinking of all of you.
