Tribute

On Sunday, September 8, 2019, Mr. Hector Joseph Schelstraete of Oliver passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 75 years.

He was predeceased by his stepson Sean Darron Tattrie in 1995; father Hector C. Schelstraete in 1996 and mother Nellie Schelstraete in 2007.

Hector will be fondly remembered by his wife Gwen; daughter Leah (Randy); son Colin (Christine); stepson Neal (Barb); grandchildren Brad (Samantha), Tianna and Austin and well as great-grandsons Koen and Reid.

Hector enjoyed a long career teaching as a Millwright and Machinist instructor at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). He enjoyed travelling to Thailand, Egypt and Trinidad to teach students in the trades. Hector also enjoyed working with cars.

The family would like to thank Dr. P.  Dhillon and the Palliative Care Unit.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday September 16, 2019 at the Oliver Legion Hall.
