Ida Barisoff

On Tuesday July 1, 2014, Mrs. Ida Barisoff of Oliver passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 87 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1997.
Ida will be fondly remembered by her loving family including children Vi (Michael) Creasey, Bill (Edna) Barisoff, Cindy (Andy) Zeeman and Barry (Sandi) Barisoff; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Ida was born on November 20, 1926 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan to William and Mary Jameff. She moved to Oliver, BC in 1944, where she and Walter were well known business owners for many years. Ida loved spending time with family, had a passion for world travel and was a long time member of the Royal Purple.
Visitation will be held between 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Ken Clarke starting at 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 5, 2014 at the Valley Congregational Christian Church, 4312 Black Sage Road.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Desert Valley Hospice Society, Po Box 1261, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0.

A special lady indeed! The greatest hostess who made everyone feel welcome and respected in her home and who made the most incredible Black Forest cake! Her entertaining was monumental and her trips to Vegas the stuff of legend.She will be sorely missed by all of her family but please remember you are all thought of with love at this most difficult time

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We have many fond memories of socializing with the Barisoff family and although I only met Ida a couple of times, she certainly made a lasting impression. Special wishes to Barry & Sandy and Bill and Edna and their families. Time heals.
