Tribute
Ivo passed away in his home on December 5th at the age of 84 years. Ivo loved life and lived it to the fullest. He believed in democracy, and fought fiercely for justice. He was happiest with a good bottle of beer, sitting under the stars in his yard and surrounded by animated discussion. He was a doting husband, a wonderful father and a devoted grandfather. He was a good man. His family and closest friends will sorely miss him.
The utmost thanks goes to our physician, Dr. G. Tarr, the palliative care nurses, Debbie Speiss and Ashley Hoebee, the Homecare Support teams and his special friends who selflessly assisted Ivo during his last months. With their care and support Ivo was able to spend his last days at home.
There will not be a formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Desert Valley Hospice, Po Box 1261, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0.

Remembering Ivo, memories of good times flow over me like a warm summer rain. As a young geologist moving into geophysics, Ivo became my friend, co-worker and mentor. All the old crew at Geoterrex share fond memories of his tales of Czechoslovakia, his prolonged and animated discussions with Mike Reford about arcane geophysical minutiae, his praise of his old Tatra, and more.
