J. Wayne Danbrook

We are heartbroken to announce that James Wayne Danbrook passed away unexpectedly in his home in Oliver, BC on February 3, 2025.
He was born on February 6, 1940, to Lloyd and Helen Danbrook in Vancouver, BC. After attending Vancouver College, he started his apprenticeship in the printing industry kickstarting a 40-year career. In 1968 he met his wife Bonnie at a beer parlour social with the Roncalli Catholic Club in Vancouver, BC. They were married on July 5, 1969. Wayne and Bonnie went on to have 4 children; Wendy, Darren, Paul and Catherine. In the late 1990’s Wayne retired and spent his time golfing, fishing, curling, camping and volunteering in the Church through the Knights of Columbus and the local Oliver community.
He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Helen Danbrook.
Wayne is survived by his wife Bonnie Danbrook; his children, Wendy and husband Jack Giannisis and their children Daniel Stevens, Callie Giannisis, Yianni Giannisis; Darren Danbrook and his dog Winston; Paul and Alex Danbrook and their children Ryan, Nicholas, and Thomas; Catherine and Dave Glutovatz and their children Annabelle and Diana-Rose.
A Funeral Mass for Wayne will be held at Christ the King Church in Oliver, BC, on February 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow in the lower hall.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Wayne’s name can be made to the Oliver Knights of Columbus at PO Box 343, Oliver, BC, V0H 1T0

Uncle Wayne is my Godfather and has been a wonderful role model as I grew up, and especially over the more recent years as a patient friend and guide.
