Tribute
Jacob (Jack) Becker
July 26, 1929 – March 23, 2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce that Jack Becker passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Bernice Becker, his parents and siblings.
Jack will be loving remembered by daughter, Pat (Herb) Wycherley; son, Bob Becker; daughter, Anne (Robert) Farnan; grandson, Brad (Kayla); granddaughters, Melissa (Chris), Kate, Keara; and great grandchildren Brook and Jacob.
Jack grew up in Oliver. He joined the RCMP in 1951, which led him to meet Bernice at his first posting in Estevan, SK. Transfers in the RCMP took them and their family to North Vancouver, Vancouver Subdivision, “E” Division Headquarters in Victoria, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge and final posting in Burnaby. Jack retired in 1981, at which time he and Bernice built their retirement home in Osoyoos.
Jack was a long-time participant in Barbershop singing, an Osoyoos Town Councilor, on the Board of Osoyoos Golf Club, on the Board of Osoyoos Credit Union and the coroner for the South Okanagan.
He was a true and absolute gentleman. Always a warm handshake, big hug, a kind word and joyful smile for everyone he met. His wife and family were truly the most important things in his life, as well as the grand dogs.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life Reception will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Osoyoos Golf Club. Donations in memory of Jack will be gratefully accepted by South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation. Condolences and tributes may be left for the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com

Our heartfelt sympathy to the family on Jack’s passing. We met Jack and Bernice in 1986 at the home of Bernice’s mother (Bernice and I were 1st cousins 1x removed). I was going through training at Depot at the time. We maintained a friendship over the years but eventually lost contact. Jack was a real gentleman. So sorry for your loss.

Relation: friend and fellow Credit Union Director
I am saddened to hear of Jack’s passing. My sympathies to the family and to Jack’s many friends for their loss of this good man. I liked Jack and got to know him over the many years we both served together on the Osoyoos Credit Union Board. He was always kind and friendly to everyone, cheerful and had something interesting to say. He had an interest in the people he met and conversed easily with them. He’ll be missed and he’ll be remembered by those who knew him.

Pat and Herb, so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. He was truly a wonderful person and always the gentleman. We remember meeting them in Tim Hortons in Penticton one day and sat to have a grand chat with both your Mum and Dad.

Another great fellow gone before us. Jack was a true gentleman and we were so blessed to have known him. He will be missed by many, many folks. He’s with the heavenly barbershop chorus now and of course his beloved Bea. Our thoughts are with you Pat and family.
