Tribute
Born Thursday August 17, 1950, Jo-Ann passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Monday February 8, 2016.
Jo-Ann was predeceased by her parents; Dr. Frank Dorsey in 2008 and Freda Dorsey in 2009.
Jo-Ann will be lovingly missed by her husband George, Daughter Leslie (Dan) Cormier, Son George Debenham Jr., Brothers Jim (Sandi) Dorsey, Ric (Sharon) Dorsey, Ron (Shirley) Dorsey, Nieces Sherry (Dave) Schaefer, Elaina (Rick) Dorsey & Sara Dorsey, and Nephews Phil Harms, Richard (Donna) Dorsey, Dan (Cheryl) Dorsey, Mark Dorsey & Chris (Cat) Dorsey as well as numerous in-laws and extended family.
Jo-Ann has many adored friends she leaves behind in Edmonton AB, where she grew up, went to school and worked, Beaumont AB, where she lived for more than 30 years and Oliver, BC where she retired to in 2008. She leaves behind many cherished co-workers and friends from Canadian Blood Services in Edmonton where she worked for the last 10 years of her Nursing career.
Jo-Ann was sadly recently predeceased by her very good friend of more than thirty five years; Janice Roberge in April of 2015. Jo-Ann and Janice were both told of their illnesses within months of each other. They communicated daily, bravely supporting each other throughout their final journeys.
A graveside service was held on Saturday February 13, 2016 at the Okanagan Falls Cemetery followed by a light lunch at the Cherry Grove Estates Clubhouse.

When I was a single parent, I remember Jo-Ann giving me a large bag of assorted meat for the freezer.This was not unusual for Jo-Ann! Over the years, we were touched by her endless good humour, generosity and positive attitude. Please accept the sincere condolences of ourselves and our family. She will be remembered fondly for the generosity she provided to our family over the years as well as her enduring friendship with my mother, Janice Roberge (especially during the last year of my mother’s life).
