Joan Mccutchen

September 12, 1947 - August 30, 2016

Tribute

Born in Port Hope, Ontario and residing in Okanagan Falls, Joan passed away from cancer. Predeceased by her father Ken, her mother Mae, sister Brenda and brother Duke. Survived by her daughter Lisa and son Michael, their spouses Jay and Jana, and grandchildren Alex, Logan, Ethan, Bruce, Jaden and Tatum.

Joan was a free spirit whose spirit is now free. She loved to swim in the lakes, drive her smart car with the music blaring, and was an avid fan of the Penticton Vees. And while she had very little herself, she gave generously to numerous charities and volunteered her time.

The family would like to thank those who also supported Joan during her illness. Many thanks to Nurse Next Door, especially Shelia. You made possible Mom's desire to stay at home for as long as possible so she could go for her swims. Also thanks to the home care nurses Lisa and Ashley. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Penticton hospital and the Sunnybank residential care facility where she spent her final days in wonderful care. Thank you also to her friend Paul and to Sandy and Ken for helping Joan at home. A private ceremony will be held by her family on what would have been her 70th birthday.
