On Saturday, august 24, 2024, Mrs. Joan Margaret Petersen of Oliver passed away at the Penticton Regional Hospital at the age of 94 years.
Full obituary will be posted soon.
A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Peter Tompkins at 11:00 am, Friday August 30, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church with a reception to follow in the church lower hall.

This saddens me. Mrs Petersen was such a lovely woman. Her husband Hank was my principal at OES and I first met her when I was in high school. When I worked at Canadian Tire, they would come in and browse, just to get out of the house. We’d chat about different things. Flowers, the Olympics, Mr Petersen…a few years back we discovered how small a world we live in. She met my mother-in-law, from 100 Mile House, on a bus trip to Vancouver.
My sincerest condolences to her family as I am sure she will be missed. Her smile, her cheery greetings her laugh…rest in peace Mrs Petersen.

My heart is with the Petersen family as they celebrate and grieve the loss of Joan who was an amazing woman, wife, mother and grandmother. Condolences to the family. I never had the pleasure of working with Joan, met her at Retired Nurses Lunches & get togethers over the years. Joan was a beautiful human being, I once told her that her soothing voice must have been so comforting to her patients over the years. Joan was a delightful person and will be remembered with fondness by those that knew her. The world has lost one of its finest.
