Big John was more than just a member of the Oliver United Church, he was my friend. We visited at least once a week and talked about his early life and of course the love of his family . John never forgot the many good times with his wife and missed her so much, but each year of the 5 years I knew him, he would get up and keep on going. If he had been born a hundred years earlier, he would have been one of the John Wayne cowboys who never said ” die”. I have missed him over the last number of years but will always remember his friendship. My sympathy and love to all his family- Jim

To the Wright family,
We pass our deepest condolences to all of you. We truly loved and enjoyed having John as our neighbor. He had lived so much life and had so many interesting stories to share. We are glad that he was surrounded with his loving family. We will miss him. May he rest in peace. Bruce & Linda, Cherry Grove

I will always treasure the maple coffee table I bought from the family when John moved to Calgary. What a fine, old man he was and how I enjoyed his gift of cucumbers and tomatoes he would leave on my porch. Often he would call to see how I was doing when I lost Steve. He will be missed. Thanks for sharing him with all of us and blessings and prayers to all of you. Betty-Jo
