Tribute

On Thursday October 7th, Mr. Jose Geraldes Antunes passed away at his home in Oliver at the age of 82 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Maria Delfina, his sister Teresa Filipe, his brother Aurelio and his parents Luis and Maria.
Jose will be lovingly remembered by his family including his sons, Tony (Delfina), George and
Rick (Susan). His loving grandchildren include Desiree, Daylene, Tyler, Warren, Rowan, Kayleigh and Evan. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Lourdes (Jose) Braz and family and Aurelia (Jose) Loureiro and family.
Jose was born and raised in Portugal. He came to Canada in 1955, one of the first Portuguese to come to the Okanagan. He owned and operated his twenty acre orchard south of Oliver until his retirement in 1990. Along with being a fruit grower he also enjoyed beekeeping.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since arriving in Oliver.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday October 13th from Christ the King Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Sebastian Puthenpura the celebrant. Prayers were recited on Tuesday evening October 12th at 7:00 p.m. from Christ the King Church.
