Tribute
On Tuesday March 26, 2013, Mr. Julius Csati of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at the McKinney Place Extended Care Unit at the age of 98 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor and his brothers Barney and Nicholas.
Julius will be fondly remembered by his loving family including his sister Julianna; daughter Grace; sons Ronald and David; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Julius was born in Bukkaranyos, Hungary, immigrated to Canada in 1929 and married Eleanor Galicz on March 30, 1946.
In 1956, during the Hungarian Revolution when refugees came to Canada, and to our community, Julius helped as an interpreter and as a result we made many friends we kept all our lives.
He farmed from 1929 – 1945 in Manitoba and BC. Julius then worked as a mechanic at a GM, Chev, Olds dealership in Manitoba from 1949 – 1969, then at the coast from 1969 – 73 and in the Osoyoos area from 1973 until his retirement.
He attended school two weeks a year in Winnipeg sponsored by General Motors to study new advancements in auto mechanics. He did well and received a certificate each year. Mechanics seemed to come naturally to him and he really enjoyed the work and the challenge of figuring out puzzling problems.
Julius was always very involved in his community and his church. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manitoba, the Osoyoos Baptist Church where he was involved with the Seniors Group and he was a member of the Elks in Manitoba.
A visitation will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday April 11, 2013 at the Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Chapel, 5855 Hemlock Street, Oliver, BC.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday April 12, 2013 at the Osoyoos Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Osoyoos Baptist Church.

Your father was a wonderful man and even though some may say that he lived a long life, people who are as wonderful as he was are always needed here on this earth. I just hope that he is with your Mom now and they are both looking down on their family and those who loved them. They are with you always. In your heart, your fond memories, and the spirit that they helped to shape in you.
My heart aches for you, your brother, and sister. For their families too who will continue on in the legacy that is that of your dad and your mother.
I am just so happy that I was able to meet these fine people and to see for myself the love they had for their family. I have always had the highest regard for them both.
I wish I could be with you for his service but please know I am thinking of all of you at this very sad time. Please accept my love and my sorrow for your dad’s passing and I know he will be so missed by so many.

Dear Grace, Ron and David: We were sorry to hear about your dad’s passing, it is the most difficult time, when we lose our loved one. I remember Uncle Julius as a quiet, gentle man of dignity. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you and family. We are sorry that we are unable to attend the funeral.
