Tribute
On Sunday January 25, 2015, Mrs. June Dorleen Baril of Osoyoos lost her battle with cancer at the age of 80 at the South Okanagan General Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Ella Cannon and her brother Dale.
June will be forever remembered by her husband Louis of 60 years; her son Wayne (Sharon), daughter Lorraine (Bill); son Terry (Holly); grandchildren Jason, Nicholas, Kyle, Shannon and Jory as well as great-grandchildren Chloe, Sophie and Emery.
June was a teacher for several years in Prince George and moved to Vancouver Island in 1972 as Louis started a new job. Retirement started for them in 1988 and they moved to Peachland but have spent the past sixteen years in Osoyoos. June and Louis enjoyed thirteen years of fun and sun wintering in Yuma, Arizona where they met many wonderful friends.
June spent many years volunteering with the Ladysmith Hospital Auxiliary where she implemented car seats for babies and set up a pet program for long term care patients so they could enjoy the pets company. Once they moved to Osoyoos, June volunteered at the thrift store and the Osoyoos United Church. She loved her garden and spent her time enjoying her vegetables and flowers.
There is no service by June’s request.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Canadian Cancer Society or the South Okanagan General Hospital.
