Tribute

On Monday October 18th, Mr. Karl Josef Spahl of Okanagan Falls passed away at his home at the age of 76 years.
A memorial reception was held on Sunday October 24th at the Okanagan Falls Senior Citizens Centre at 2:00 p.m.
Karl was predeceased by his brother in law Terry Johnson and his close companion Doreen Baumgartner.
He is survived by his three sons; Randall, Martin (Monika) and Todd.
Karl’s dear grandchildren Katalin, Jessica and Mark as well as his ex-wife Rose Marie
His sister Josephine Johnson and her children, Maureen (Bill) Doerr, Wanda (Dave) Casorso, Mike (Debbie) Pat (Barb), Paul (Gail), Amy and Teresa (Tom) Fortune.
Karl spent a career as a Meteorologist for the Federal Government and later with CFCN Radio & TV. He also worked for a time in sales at Bucars RV in Calgary.
Karl was born and raised in Kelowna. Over the years he lived in Victoria (1958-1961), Estevan Point (1961-1964), Prince George (1964-1969), Calgary (1969-1990),
Oliver (1990-1997) and then Okanagan Falls.
His memberships included Crimewatch, the Curling Club and the Seniors Centre.
Karl was an avid photographer and Amateur (Ham) radio operator. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved exploring the back roads.
