It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kenneth Herman (Ken) Weichel a beloved husband, loving father and grandfather.

He was predeceased by Mary and Adam Weichel and many siblings, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Zita Weichel (Elsner); his children Janet Weichel McKenzie (Jim), Sharron Porter (Kevin), Jennifer Wallis (Tom), Martina Doll (Garry), Zita Ziebart (Craig), and Frank Joseph Elsner (Susan); his grandchildren Tommy, Billy, Robert, Haley, Katie, Taylor (Rebecca), Morgan (Jessica), Meaghan (Alex), Bradley, Mary (Tyler), and Brendan; and great-granddaughter Ava.

Ken had a fulfilling career providing 33 years of dedicated Canadian Armed Forces service. He spent the final years of his military career in Europe retiring as a Master Warrant Officer, CD.

Ken lived his life to the fullest with simple pleasures. He was a devoted husband to his wife Zita. He enjoyed spending time preparing delicious meals and homemade wine. He loved to walk, listen to beautiful German music and work in his workshop and exquisite garden to make his home a palace for all to enjoy. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Family, friends, and others whose lives he touched are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, Oliver BC.
