June 15, 1950 - January 1, 2009
Tribute
Joktan, Kimberly (NEE Beliveau) Born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan to Leonard & Violet Beliveau. When Kimberly was two years old, her parents joined the many pioneering families moving to the Peace River Country. They settled near Grande Prairie, Alberta and she and her six siblings grew up on the farm there. In 1934, she married Mike Joktan and they raised their three children on their farm near Sexsmith, Alberta. After the children were grown & Kimberly was left a widow, she moved to Oliver, BC and studied to be an LPN. She worked in the hospital there for many years. Kimberly was a poet, published two books of poetry and wrote for many magazines. She was a free spirit, beloved by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed by her three children; Tracie (Gert), Bryan and Ron; ten grandchildren, and a large and loving extended family. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2009 at St. Anne”s Catholic Church, 7610 87th Street, Osoyoos. Burial to follow. Donations in memory of Kimberly may be made to the Moog & Friends Hospice House, 1701 Government Street, Penticton, BC V2A 8J7.
