On Monday, February 26, 2018, Laura Kathleen Ryan of Osoyoos passed away suddenly at her home at the age of 44 years. She was born June 25, 1973 in North York, ON.
Laura will be fondly remembered by her loving family including husband Matthew Sanderson; sons Tyson Ryan, Matthew Sanderson (6) and Cruz Sanderson (4); step-daughter Myla Sanderson (10); mom Vietta (Vie) and dad Garry Gunderson; sister Arlene (Charles) Yargeau; nephews Joshua and Jacob Yargeau; niece Alissa Yargeau; Laura’s biological father Patrick Mara as well as many extended family and friends.
Laura was a self-employed hairdresser and was known as “the lady with the flying scissors”. She delighted in cooking, baking, crafts, helping with the cooking club for children in Osoyoos and camping with her husband and children. Over the years she enjoyed trips to Disneyland, Ontario, Hawaii, Alberta, Saskatchewan.
Laura loved her children more than anything in the world. She was always smiling, cheerful energetic, sensitive empathetic and knew so many people. Laura was kind and generous and could never say no to anyone who needed help. She loved and cared for her mum and dad almost every day. Laura was very bright and excelled at everything she tried.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 31, 2018 at the Sonora Centre, 8505 – 68th Avenue, Osoyoos, BC.

Laura’s beautiful, genuine laughter rings on in my memories of her. She loved her family so very much and would think of everyone else before herself. I cannot think of Laura without seeing her smile! She was beautiful, inside and out with a heart of gold! She was deeply loved and will be forever missed

I met Laura through the Osoyoos Strongstart. She was a lovely person, always had a big smile and very friendly. Her love for her family was very evident and her life revolved around them. A good person who gave so much has been taken from us far too soon. My deepest condolences to her husband, children, parents and the rest of her family.

Heartfelt condolences to Laura’s family and friends and hugs to her children. I only knew Laura briefly in highschool, but remember her kindness to me at a difficult time, and how she made me laugh. Rest in peace, beautiful lady.

I can not believe I am reading this correctly and that Laura has been taken to heaven. I am a high school friend from many, many years ago who will always remember her hilarious, outgoing, genuine personality. Facebook reconnected us and provided me with a tiny glimpse into her life. Reading her posts about the littlest boys and their daily antics always, always brought a smile to my face, and often a belly laugh too. I feel deeply for those who are left to mourn her loss. The world will definitely be dimmer without her in it.
