Laurie Kerkhoff

Tribute
On Monday November 12, 2012, Mrs. Laurie Jean “Jeanie” Kerkhoff of Osoyoos passed away peacefully and suddenly at the Penticton Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years.
She was predeceased by her sisters Kay, Lilly and Marg; her brother Bob and her niece Barb.
Laurie will be fondly remembered by her loving family including husband Leonard Frank Kerkhoff; sons Larry, Lanny (Wendy) and Lindsay; daughter Laraine (Ed); grandchildren Spencer, Lauren, Steven, Morgan, Byron (Brielle), Alex and stepson of Lindsay – Nicholas.
Laurie trained and worked as a nurse at Calgary General Hospital and the Taber General Hospital.
She loved to travel and enjoyed trips with her husband Len to Hawaii, Pakistan (Islamabad), Spain, Italy, Ireland, Bolivia, Japan and Singapore.
Laurie loved music (piano and singing) and often composed various skits she coordinated through the years. She loved to golf and was a member of the Osoyoos Golf Club, the San Vicente Golf Club in Ramona, California and the Earl Grey Golf Club in Calgary. Laurie was also a member of the Oil Wives in Calgary for many years.
Laurie was a Protestant until she was baptized and confirmed Catholic on November 18, 2009.
A funeral service was officiated by Fr. Dave De Souza at 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 17, 2012 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A reception in the church lower hall hosted by the CWL followed the service.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
