LeeAnn Lindsay

September 10, 1965 - December 3, 2010

LeeAnn Joan Lindsay passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms after a long, extremely courageous battle with cancer. She lived her life to the fullest. She demonstrated to her children, on all occasions, the importance of sharing all of the world’s experiences. Her mission in life was to be ‘Mom.’

She is predeceased by her father, Ken, Grandpa Edward, Grandpa Eric and Grandma Lena, Auntie Ruth and Uncle Norman and Mickey.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd, daughter, Cassidy, son, Chad; daughter-in-law, Ainslie, mom, Joan, sister, Arlene (Dave), brothers, Stuart (Jerry) and Jeff (Chantal) and Grandma Alma, Lloyd’s family, father, Lloyd and mother, Nellie, sisters, Sandy (Rosie) and Joan (Malcolm) as well as many extended family and caring friends.

LeeAnn was an empathetic, caring, intuitive special education teacher whose understanding and compassion for students was exemplary. She was a supportive colleague to all who had the fortunate opportunity to work with her.

She loved to travel to many places. She especially loved her ‘happy place,’ Maui. She was a fierce competitor, particularly in a SCRABBLE game. She loved crafts, gardening, camping and reading. She enjoyed time with her friends and always opened her house to a ‘Happy Friday’ occasion.

She was a spiritual woman who had a strong but calm demeanor with a Lutheran upbringing.

She was a comfort to all of her many friends, who will never forget her thoughtfulness and insight.

LeeAnn loved flowers and would appreciate any donation to the Andy Moog Hospice House.
Memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday December 6, 2010 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Penticton, BC.

Leanne and I went to Minot state together and then I had the distinct pleasure of working with her in Alberta, in both of our first jobs. LeeAnn was a delight to all who knew her – such a warm, caring and fun person. Maureen Larson call to tell of LeeAnn’s passing. I’m so sad for your family. May her memory be a blessing to you all.

Dear Lloyd and all of LeeAnn’s family.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of LeeAnn. I was fortunate to meet LeeAnn at Brandon University where we first worked together and then became friends. LeeAnn was a caring friend with a great sense of humor, warm smile, and a kind person who always thought of others. I have many fond memories of LeeAnn and although I didn’t see her often I will miss her very much. My thoughts and prayers are with Lloyd, Cassidy and Chad, as well as all of LeeAnn’s family at this very sad time.

Rest in peace my friend.

Lloyd, Cassidy, Family and Friends,
I send my deepest condolences to you all. Although I did not know LeeAnn real well I had the pleasure to work with her for 2 years. Her warm, caring nature and professional manner were evident in her work at school with the children and her colleagues. May you all be blessed during this difficult time.

Relation: Teacher colleagues, (Oliver)

Dear Lloyd and family: we’re so saddened by the news of your terrible loss! LeeAnn taught us all so much, in her enthusiastic, humble, professional way of working with students and staff, and that particular kindness towards everyone that defined her person. We feel so “gifted” by having known her, even slightly. You and your family are so much in our thoughts, prayers and hearts.

Like the fine teacher she was, LeeAnn has left us with so many lessons. Lessons about courage. About dignity. About purpose. About priorities. About caring. I am truly sorry for your loss, and I hope that in time your memories will be a comfort.

Lloyd and family….. I was shocked and saddened to read of LeeAnn’s passing away. As we knew you both from the curling club, we all offer our deepest sympathies. It’s especially sad for this to happen so near to Christmas. May you keep your fondest memories of your lives close to your heart.

When I’m out in my yard, I’m often reminded of LeeAnn – many of the flowers and shrubs she originally planted are still there. I will plant something new in her memory this spring. I am so sorry for your loss, Lloyd, Cassidy, Chad and family. I pray that the wonderful memories you have of her can lessen the pain you are feeling now.
