Tribute
On Saturday July 8, 2017, Mrs. Leona Fern Dunnigan of Osoyoos passed away at Mariposa Gardens following a long illness at the age of 82 years.
A private family graveside service was held at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery on Saturday July 15th.
Leona was predeceased by her parents Verna and James Jackson, her husband Norman, grandson Shawn Moreira and grandson in law Shawn Carrigan.
She is survived by her loving family including her son Steve (Debbie) and daughter Susan (Tony) Moreira. Her grandchildren; Travis (Krista), Nicole, Stacie, and Amanda (Dave).
Great-grandchildren; Clara, Graysen, Jared and Troy.
Leona and Norm spent many memorable winters in California and Arizona as well as trips within Western Canada and Ontario.
Leona was an avid golfer and for a time was Ladies Club Captain at the O.G.C.C.
Along with golf, she enjoyed bridge, quilting and playing bocce with family.
She loved watching her grandchildren’s sports including hockey, figure skating and soccer as well as time with her poodles.
Over the years she was an active member of Kinettes, Kinsmen and the Osoyoos Golf & Country Club.
