Tribute
It’s a loss to the world with the passing of Lisa (Liselotte) Falkenberg at the spring chicken age of 76. She was with family as she passed from a hell of a fight with cancer.
As we are a crazy family in our own right, she felt it natural to be trained at Riverview in Coquitlam to become a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, as she felt right at home. After being trained and moving back to Osoyoos, she spent most of her working career at Sunnybank care home giving fantastic care to everyone. This continued into retirement in volunteering with hospice.
Her nursing career was a mirror to her home life where she was famous for taking care of others. She was also famous for her Christmas seafood dinners that were admired by everyone.
Travelling was something she loved and Peru was her highlight. It was probably the coca leaves she got to chew on. She was famous for camping with her sister in the Prince George area and was named Champagne Susie for an incident in the outhouse.
She is survived by her sister Gisela, son Richard, daughter in law Mandy, nephews Jason and Eron, niece Karisa, aunt Tina, and sister-in-law Myrna.
In lieu of any flowers or any other gifts, please give donations to the Moog & Friends Hospice House in Penticton.

My condolences to Lisa’s family. I knew her from my work places and we often had extended conversations there and in front of her home if she happened to be outside when I walked by. We never meant to spend that long talking, but it always happened. I truly enjoyed her company, even though we didn’t see each other often over the years. I know she will be missed.

Lisa always made me laugh. I went to school with her and would see here around Osoyoos or Oliver, always taking time to chat. Her bright light and ready humour will be greatly missed.

I worked with Lisa for 30 years at Sunnybank centre . Lisa was one of the most compassionate nurses we had . She was caring and always spent time with each resident , caring , joking , listening to them and she was also amazing with family members and her co-workers . I’m sad to hear of her passing . My heartfelt condolences to Lisa’s son Richard . She spoke about him often , besides work he was her heart for sure . Also to all of Lisa’s family members and friends . RIP Lisa , you were an Angel on earth and now in Heaven !
