Tribute

Louise May Clark

January 17, 1920 – March 21, 2022

Louise Clark passed away, surrounded by her family, on March 21, 2022 in Oliver, B.C. at the age of 102 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold (Bud) Clark; sister, Betty O’Bryan; brothers, Tommy and Harold Holland. Louise will forever be remembered by her 3 children, Pat Cooke, Bill Clark, and Ron Clark; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Louise was born in Calgary, Alberta on January 17, 1920 and moved to Winnipeg in 1922. In 1945, she married Harold (Bud) Clark. They moved out to the Okanagan Valley in 1976 where they enjoyed many years at Gallagher Lake and Oliver. She was a WWII Veteran (Leading Aircraft woman), worked as a CNIB Canteen worker, and at Eaton’s. She received a letter of recognition of her service in WWII from Veteran’s Affairs and an acknowledgement of her 100th birthday from the Queen.

She enjoyed traveling many different places over the years. She loved going to Hawaii and over to Europe. She was a regular at Grand Beach in Winnipeg and the Sylvia Hotel at English Bay, Vancouver. She also could be seen at the exercise club at the complex clubhouse and Penticton Recreation Centre. Louise also was a part of ladies’ coffee club and the youth group at Grace Tabernacle Church. She belonged to numerous churches in the valley and in later years would tune in to TV religious services. Her hobbies included baking, shopping, grandkids, the food channel and knitting. She was famous for her butter tarts and pineapple slice.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Park Drive Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Stacey Brock officiating.

Donations are graciously accepted to the Salvation Army.
