Ludwina Schmidtheisler

October 20, 1929 - July 12, 2011

Tribute

On Tuesday July 12, 2011, Mrs. Ludwina Karoline Schmidtheisler of Osoyoos passed away after a long illness at McKinney Place Extended Care at the age of 81 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack; her children Gerald and Sherry; her mother Anna Wurm and her brothers Rudolph and Josef.
Ludwina will be fondly remembered by her loving family including her daughter Laura (Raymond) Ballard of Oroville, WA; her sisters Rose of Rutland, BC and Agnes of Naramata, BC; her brother Robert (Bob) of Quesnel, BC as well as numerous cousin, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ludwina’s joys in life were simple: meeting with friends for coffee in town or with the Tuesday coffee group at the Elk’s Golden Villa where she resided for many years. Known for her sense of humour, she would stamp her feet and start to dance as soon as she entered the room. Ludwina loved to make people smile. Word and jigsaw puzzles, along with watching TV “soapies” were favourite activities.
She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
Donations are gratefully accepted to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 200 – 4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC, V5G 9Z9.
Special thanks to the residents and staff of the Golden Villa for years of help and love; to Elaine Ecker, a much appreciated cousin, helper and friend; to Pastor Karen Davidson of Oroville and to the staff at McKinney Place who eased her final days.
A memorial mass will be celebrated by Fr. Rex Velmonte at 10:30 A.M. Monday July 18, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Osoyoos, BC. Urn interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.

Hi Laura and family; Saddened to hear of your loss but your Mother was very faithful to you and always came to visit your teachers and to show concern for you. We saw her daily at the postoffice and she was respectful and always called us Mr. and Mrs. Albo. You will miss her dearly but she has earned her rest.
