Tribute

On Tuesday July 12, 2011, Mrs. Ludwina Karoline Schmidtheisler of Osoyoos passed away after a long illness at McKinney Place Extended Care at the age of 81 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack; her children Gerald and Sherry; her mother Anna Wurm and her brothers Rudolph and Josef.
Ludwina will be fondly remembered by her loving family including her daughter Laura (Raymond) Ballard of Oroville, WA; her sisters Rose of Rutland, BC and Agnes of Naramata, BC; her brother Robert (Bob) of Quesnel, BC as well as numerous cousin, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ludwina’s joys in life were simple: meeting with friends for coffee in town or with the Tuesday coffee group at the Elk’s Golden Villa where she resided for many years. Known for her sense of humour, she would stamp her feet and start to dance as soon as she entered the room. Ludwina loved to make people smile. Word and jigsaw puzzles, along with watching TV “soapies” were favourite activities.
She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.

A memorial mass will be celebrated by Fr. Rex Velmonte at 10:30 A.M. Monday July 18, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Osoyoos, BC. Urn interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.
