Tribute

On Friday May 18, 2018, Mr. Luis Da Costa Tavares De Melo passed away at the South Okanagan General Hospital surrounded by his family.

Prayer Vigil for the late Luis De Melo will be held on Thursday evening May 24th at 7:00 p.m.  from St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Osoyoos.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday May 25th from St. Anne’s Catholic Church.

Luis will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family including Alcida, his devoted wife of 62 years.

Sons; Luis Jr., Harvey and Tony (Heather) as well as grandsons Kyle, Brandon and Brice.

Luis was born, raised and married in Sao Miguel, Azores and immigrated to Canada in 1956.

He worked for Alcan before moving to Osoyoos to raise his family in fruit farming.

Over the years he was very involved in building the Catholic church with donated equipment and labour.

He was dedicated to his Church and volunteered his time in may ways including parish council.

Donations gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
