Manuel Borba

Tribute
Manuel Borba of Oliver, BC passed away suddenly at South Okanagan General Hospital on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 89 years.
Mourning Manuel are his grandchildren; Brendan (Therese), Tyrone, Daneel (Kya), and Levon Borba; his sister, Alfradina, daughters-in-law Brenda and Margie, and numerous great grandchildren and extended family. Manuel was predeceased by his wife, Elvira Borba and by his son’s, Joe, Luis and John Borba.
Manuel was born in the Açores, where he met his wife of 62 years, Elvira Borba. In 1963 Manuel and Elvira moved to Canada, bringing with them their 5-year-old son, Joe. While in Canada, Manuel worked on his orchard. After retirement, Manuel continued to enjoy growing his own vegetables in his garden; however, nothing brought him more joy than to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the charity of your choice in Manuel’s memory.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 P.M. July 2, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.

Relation: I met Manuel and Elvira when I visited my mother Gloria Gorcak at McKinney Place.
I would like to say that I met both your parents while visited my mother Gloria Gorcak in McKinney Place they were very friendly to both of us. So sorry for your losses. I just lost my mother recently, so I know what you are all going through. My heart goes out to all of you. Sandi Mercer
