Tribute

On Friday, September 11^th, 2026, Manuel Julio Raposo Medeiros, of Oliver, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, at the age of 80 years. He is predeceased by his parents, Manuel J. Medeiros and Diamantina Medeiros and sister-in-law Maria Medeiros.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Maria Medeiros; children Eduarda and Paolo Cordeiro, Danny and Susana Medeiros, Connie Medeiros, Michael Medeiros and Chelsey Schur, and Brian and Jenna Medeiros; grandchildren Paolo Cordeiro, Jenia Medeiros, Danny Medeiros Jr., Mia Medeiros, , Matteo Diluciano, Autumn Vickers, Anthony Medeiros and Ava Medeiros; and siblings Maria Eduarda and Fransisco Nunes, Jose and Geraldina Medeiros, Gilbert Medeiros, Louisa and Jose Anselmo, Diamantina and Joao Almeida, and Antonio and Terry Medeiros.
Manuel was born in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, in 1948. He moved to Canada in 1967, at age 19, to pursue better opportunities for his young family. Here, he owned and operated his own cleaning company for 37 years – Medeiros Building Maintenance. He was also an orchardist for 16 years.
Manuel was a hard-working family man. He loved to sing, make jokes, was the life of the party and lit up any room he was in with his vibrant personality. He was a provider, a leader and an incredibly strong man.
His family will forever remember him and honour his legacy.

Viewing will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday September 16, 2026 at Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service, 5855 Hemlock Street, Oliver, BC.

A funeral Mass will be held for Manuel at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 17^th, 2026, followed by an interment and committal at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery, with a reception to follow in the church lower hall.
