MARGARET FORDYCE

Beloved wife of Clare Fordyce passed peacefully on Dec. 12, 2009 at Sunnybank Centre.

Margaret was born on Jan. 11, 1926 and grew up with sisters Kay, Lil, Vicki, brothers Alec and Norman Boleychuk.

Marg will forever be loved by Clare and their 2 families. Immediate family members are Marg”s daughter Denise Gartner (grandchildren, Michelline, Christopher, Travis), son Warren Hodgins ( wife Linda), Clare”s daughter Kerry Davidson (husband Les and grandchildren Kahla, Jade and Ford), and Clare”s son Garth Fordyce (wife Heather and grandchildren Tanis and Trevor).

Marg will also be remembered with love by, extended members of the Boleychuk, Templar, Dale, Overland , Orr, Hodgins, Hanna and VanCamp families.

Marg”s son and daughter are forever grateful to and admired her for raising them as a single parent and are proud of the Management career she built with Metropolitan Life. Those challenges helped Marg develop a character resulting in many friendships that she cherished over the years.

Marg requested no funeral service be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunnybank Centre, RR3, 36657 – 79ST, Oliver B.C. V0H 1T0.

Margaret was a gracious lady right to the end and that is how we will always remember her. We send our heartfelt condolences to all her family.

From: Joan Firman
Relation: Through curling

I read with sadness of Marg’s passing. She was such a wonderful person. Her kind demeanor was what she was all about. We enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, but that was years ago. She and Clare would come to the club and watch curling, a sport they both enjoyed. I know she will be missed by all.

From: Linda Rae Adams
Relation: Friend of Warren and Linda Hodgins

You are an honour to your mother’s life Dear Hodge, yet still I am so sad to hear you’ve lost your wonderful heroine. My condolences to Clare and Denise and Kerry, and to the rest of your family.
Joy shared, twice the joy; Sorrow shared, half the sorrow.
After all the joy we’ve shared, I look forward to seeing Linda and you over Christmas to share our sorrow. Love from LR (and Trev)

From: Judith Mauro Bowers
Relation: Neighbour of my Uncle Tony- Oliver

I remember Margaret’s grace and kindness and her love of family. One of the highlights of my summers in Oliver was to spent time with both Margaret and Clare. My thoughts are with you all.
