On Wednesday January 15, 2020, Mrs. Margaret Laura Hanson of Oliver passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 93 years.

Relation: She was my aunt.
Margaret Hanson, my Aunt M was first a small part of my life when I was only about 7 years old. She came to live in Eatonia for a while with her sister, Helen, who was my mother. Our family moved to B. C. in 1945 and I did not see Auntie M that often. When she and Uncle Bob moved to Oliver and after I retired in 1995 we met more often. We always enjoyed our company as we teased one another about our ability to play cribbage. I’ll have to admit that she won more often than I did but I, of course, let her know that she was just lucky to get good cards. She loved her life in Oliver but often talked about her farm days in Eatonia. It was obvious that she was a hard worker in those days. Still, she made time for play. She almost always seemed happy and liked to make others happy, too. She stressed how lucky she was for the wonderful life she had and was most appreciative of that life. I will miss her and her ways but I know how lucky I have been to have had her a part of my life. She will be remembered for all her kindness and loving ways.
