Margaret Ruth Ingebrigtson (nee Langlois)

January 1, 1950 - February 26, 2025

Tribute

With sadness, we announce the passing of Margaret R. Ingebrigtson after a short illness.

Born in The Pas, MB. Jan. 01, 1950 Margaret, with her parents, moved to Churchill, MB, at the age of 1 year. She, along with her brothers and sisters, George, Kathleen, Roland and Marion, were raised in Churchill and Fort Churchill. Margaret attended school at the Duke of Edinburgh School in Fort Churchill, and following graduation, attended the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching certificate. She returned to Churchill and taught K through 12 until her retirement in 2004. She will doubtless be remembered fondly by her former students as either Miss Langlois or Mrs. Ingebrigtson. Following her retirement, after a short stay in Winnipeg, she and her husband Peter moved to Oliver, BC, to enjoy the warmer climate. Predeceased by her husband Peter in 2005, Margaret spent time attending to her aging parents, volunteered with the Desert Valley Hospice Society, and assisted where possible with her many nieces, nephews and “GREATS”.

Generous to a fault, she will surely be remembered by her many friends and relatives as the caring, concerned person that she was.

Cremation has taken place, and interment will follow at a later date. No service is planned. Rest in peace, Margaret, knowing that you were loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s remembrance may be made to the Desert Valley Hospice Society or a charity of your choosing.

Margaret has been our good friend since we moved to Churchill in 1987. We’ve built many memories together over the years, far too many to write here, but will be cherished forever. She loved her family fiercely and although we weren’t related through blood, she made us feel like we were a part of that family. We’ll all miss her dearly. Until we meet again …

From: Irene Davie
Relation: My Mother Leola Langlois, was Margaret's Aunt, and I am her cousin.

A heart can never be prepared for such a loss, by losing a beloved family member for sure! I knew Margaret as a caring person, super smart, and also a fabulous Piano player! She had many attributes that were very entertaining when needed! It was great to see her when our Langlois relatives got together to celebrate at family gatherings! She will be missed by everyone who knew her during her life on Earth! She will be dancing in Heaven with her husband Peter, whom she missed dearly! “Together Again”!

Relation: Churchill Family Friend

Sincerely ,
