Tribute

On Thursday June 23, 2011, Mrs. Margaret Mary Ness passed away suddenly at the McKinney Place Extended Care Unit at the age of 82 years.
She was predeceased by Noel Douville, her spouse of forty years, Joeffry Ness Sr.; her brothers James and Hugh; her sisters Helen, Agnes, Jean, and Teresa as well as daughter-in-law Laurie.
Margaret will be fondly remembered by her loving family including children Dwight (Jocelin) Granger, Bonny Jean Granger, Kathleen (Almerio) Roveredo, Joeffry (Lorraine) Ness, James (Joanne) Ness, Dale (Wendy) Ness, Shawn Ness and Shelly (Ivan) Poitras; her sister Verna (Regent) Pouliot; twenty five grandchildren; thirty eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Over the years Margaret worked at Sears, The Bay, the CNIB and then owned a laundry mat until retirement. She also volunteered at the hospital in Nanaimo and shopped and visited with seniors.
She enjoyed travels to Hawaii, Mexico, Reno, Las Vegas, Scotland, England, Ireland and across Canada.
Margaret won a Gold Medal in 10 Pin bowling and was a Canadian champion in 5 Pin bowling. She loved watching sports, tennis, hockey and playing cards. In her younger years she was a speed skater and a baseball player. She also loved bowling, golf and trips to the casino.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday July 1st, 2011at the Oliver Kinsmen Water Park.
