Maria Martins

Tribute
On Monday March 18, 2013, Mrs. Maria Dos Anjos Faia Martins of Osoyoos passed away surrounded by family at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 82 years.
She was predeceased by her brother Armando Serelheria.
Maria will be fondly remembered by her loving family including husband Jose Pereira Martins; son Joaquim “Jack” (Amelia) Martins; daughter Amelia (Victor) Santos; grandchildren Michelle (Chad), Nina (Derek), Cindy (Adrian) and Jennifer (Paul); great-grandchildren Markus, Liam, Caleb, Jace, Landon, Brooklynn, Chloe and Sophie as well as many extended family and friends.
Maria loved traveling back to Portugal and taking bus trips to Reno. She also made a memorable trip to Las Vegas with her four granddaughters in 2004.
Maria was an orchardist, a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a proud member of the Portuguese Canadian Cultural Society as well as the Catholic Women’s League. She also enjoyed camping and gardening.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Thursday March 21, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Dave De Souza at 11:00 A.M. Friday March 22, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.

It was with saddness we learned of the passing of Maria. We always looked forward to them coming in for breakfast on Sunday after church. Jose and Maria always had a warm smile for us and they brightened our day.
