Tribute
On Saturday April 5, 2014, Mrs. Maria de Piedade Rodrigues of Osoyoos passed away suddenly at her home at the age of 91 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Jose Rodrigues in 2008; son Alfredo in 1967; her parents; two sisters and two brothers.
Maria will be fondly remembered by her loving family including son Fernando; daughter Maria Pires (Roger); son Jose Antonio (Barbara); grandchildren David, Cindy, Janine, Ricky, Jeremy, Shanelle; great-grandchild Carson and one sister Maria da Graҫa in Portugal.
Maria was born, raised and married in Portugal. She immigrated to Canada in 1967, lived in Naramata for two years and then settled in Osoyoos in 1969. Maria spent many years working in the orchard. She enjoyed trips back to Portugal to visit family, gardening, playing cards, camping, fishing and playing with her grandchildren.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday April 9, 2014 at the Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Chapel, 5855 Hemlock Street, Oliver, BC. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Dave DeSouza at 10:30 A.M. Thursday April 10, 2014 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Osoyoos, BC. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.

I remember your parents playing cards with my grandparents. I hope that they are all getting together now for a a game.
