Tribute

Marie Holz, born September 16, 1912, in Palic, Serbia, died peacefully, on July 31, 2010, at Mariposa Gardens, Osoyoos, BC.
She was predeceased by her husband Frank, son John, parents and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son, Joe (Irene); daughter-in-law Diane; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marie along with her husband Frank, sons John and Joe immigrated to Canada from Yugoslavia via Rome, Italy in 1951. They settled in Osoyoos where she joined the rest of her siblings. Marie worked at 2 jobs, the Monashee Packing House until her retirement and she was an accomplished seamstress and dress designer, well known as the Osoyoos Streamstress. After retirement she spent time traveling and enjoyed her weekly outings with friends. Marie was a member of the Catholic Women”s League at St. Anne”s Catholic Church. Later her work as seamstress and dress designing became her hobby. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anne”s Catholic Church on Thursday, August 12 at 10:30 A.M. with Celebrant Fr. Rex Velmonte, Music Ministry Janet Marcotte, and Reader Bianca Abernethy. Interment will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
