Tribute

On Wednesday November 6, 2013, Mrs. Marilyn Joan Goldie of Oliver passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital after a hard fight with cancer and diabetes at the age of 74 years.

Marilyn will be fondly remembered by her loving husband Philip Goldie; daughter Darlene MacGregor (Cameron); son Allan Goldie (Diane); son Michael Goldie (Suzanne); granddaughter Krista Bradley (Josh), Granddaughter Kara Goldie; grandson Dan Goldie and great-granddaughters Emma and Kylie.

Phil & family,

Phil, I just found this and wanted to share with you and the family.

Oh, please, don’t feel guilty. It was just my time to go.
I see you are still feeling sad, and the tears just seem to flow.

We all come to earth for our lifetime, and for some it’s not for many years.
I don’t want you to keep crying; you are shedding so many tears.

I haven’t really left you, even though it may seem so.
I have just gone to my Heavenly home, and I’m closer to you than you know.

Just believe that when you say my name, I’m standing next to you.
I know you long to see me, but there’s nothing I can do.

But I’ll still send you messages and hope you understand, that when your time comes to “cross over,” I’ll be there to take your hand.

We may not have known Marilyn as long as some of her friends, but she will be greatly missed . Will miss her chats and cups of English tea,and her baked goodies . Marilyn thanks for all the great memories, you were a great sister in-law and very special friend. Visiting you in Langford or in the later years Oliver were always very special times and fun no matter weather it was a visit to the fabulous Oliver wineries, a tour of Oliver and area or a road trip to Kelowna. Thanks Phil. We still have some of your special recipes cherished even more knowing there are no more. We remember all those card game and Yatzee games you always seemed to find a way to win. Thanks for all those fabulous dinners over the years, you culinary expertise is legendary. Our thoughts and prayer are with Phil and the family at this difficult time. RIP Marilyn you are dearly missed
