Tribute
On the morning of Friday October 26, 2012, Mrs. Marlene Kay Hood of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 72 years.
She was predeceased by her mother Delia Lessard and father Mervin Williams; brothers Merv Williams and Sid Williams and sister Betty Lou Manley.
Marlene will be fondly remembered by her loving husband Bud Hood; sons Keith (Jacquelyn), Merv (Sue) and Kirk; grandchildren Dylan, Dakota, Kyle (Kristen) and Tanya (Jason); great-grandchildren Knox and Piper; brothers Lloyd (Clair), Percy, Russ (Gail); sister Shirley (Lawrence); sister-in-law Fran; brother-in-law John Manley and step-father Philip Lessard.
Marlene was born on May 8, 1940 in New Westminster, BC and lived there until she was sixteen when her parents moved to Beaverdell to buy the Beaverdell Hotel. She met her future husband Bud in 1956 and married him in 1958. Together they had three boys, Keith, Merv and Kirk. They moved to Osoyoos in 1968. Marlene worked at the Desert Doctors clinic in excess of twenty years. She was a wonderful wife, a dedicated hockey mom and grandma and she enjoyed every minute she spent with her children and grandchildren. Marlene followed her grandson’s hockey careers faithfully, never missing a game on the internet. She was loved by all her family, was kind, considerate and will be missed by all.
