Martin Johansen
January 5, 1945 - July 26, 2026
Tribute
On July 26, 2026, after a long illness, Martin E. Johansen of Osoyoos, B.C., passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side.
Martin is predeceased by his father Ole, mother Kathleen, and his brothers David and Paul. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Elaine, daughter Nicole (Trevor) and grandsons Leif and Ramenson, daughter Jennifer (Justin), brother Norman, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Norway.
Martin earned his B/A at Eastern Washington University and went on to serve B.C. Parks for his nearly 39-year career, overseeing Provincial Parks in Manning, Prince George District, Kokanee, and Golden Ears, to name a few. He ended his career as the Provincial Boating and Rafting Regulation Officer. He also volunteered at the Nancy Green Ski Club in Prince George, coaching downhill skiing to youth.
He loved being with his wife, daughters, and sons-in-law. Naturally, he loved outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, and hunting. In his younger years, he played baseball and enjoyed ski jumping. Martin also enjoyed travelling to Mexico, Norway, the Dominican Republic and Maui.
Donations in Martin’s honour may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.

So sad to hear about Marty. I worked with him in the BC Parks Prince George District Office for a couple of years. He was always kind and quite funny at times. I have good memories of then. My condolences to your family.
