Maurice (Moe) Alarie

May 19, 1953 - December 11, 2018

Tribute

Maurice Paul Alarie, “Moe” was born May 19th 1953 in Pine Falls, MB and suddenly passed away December 11th 2018 in Osoyoos, BC.  He was predeceased by his mother Jeannette, father Paul and sister Pauline.

Moe is survived by his wife Odile, daughter Dawn (Michael), sons Chad (Laura) and Lee and his beloved granddaughter Aria.

A man of boundless talents he started off in the papermill but quickly discovered a passion for sales which took him to Montreal.  Something was missing and he took a position closer to home in Winnipeg and was made whole when he married his childhood friend and the love of his life, Odile.  Together in their 43 years of marriage they welcomed 3 children and moved 7 times across the country as his talents led to bigger promotions. He reinvented himself many times along the way and kept pushing himself to learn and take on new challenges. As an entrepreneur he started and then sold Safe Oasis Security.  He thrived as a project manager building amusement park rides which took him to 3 continents. In retirement he enjoyed being home and spending time with family.  Extremely generous in every way, those whom he loved never lacked anything.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A reception in the church lower hall will follow the mass.

I had the pleasure of working with Moe and sharing a home with he and Odile in Florida while installing a ride. I was struck by his passion for the work and ingenuity he brought to solving problems. Off hours we enjoyed many conversations and laughs. He will be missed by all of us.

We were very surprised to hear of Moe’s passing. Take comfort in your memories at this time of sadness. May these few words help convey the thoughts of sympathy so deeply felt, yet so hard to express. We will miss the doggy cartoons that Moe posted each week. As will Muffin miss the treats he so generously handed out to all the dogs that passed by his house.
