Mervyn Steele

July 24, 1947 - May 19, 2016

On Thursday May 19, 2016, Mr. Mervyn James Steele of Osoyoos, BC passed away at the Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 68 years.

Merv never wore a watch and seldom used a phone but he always knew what time it was and it was time to go.

The work is done and challenges complete. Now its time for a new paradise and much welcomed sleep.

The stars are not wanted now, put out every one, pack up the moon and dismantle the sun, pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood; Merv would have done it if he could.

Beloved husband of Donna (nee Eldridge; loving father of John and his wife Miae of Seoul, South Korea.

From: Carol & Ray
Relation: Longtime Friends

It’s hard to say goodbye to a long time friend. So many things we have all done together: High School Dances, Prom, Graduation, part of your wedding party, and you were in ours. Then came house parties, raising children, numerous trips to Mexico, and finally retirement and more travel! Our world will not be the same without you, Merf, as you are off on another adventure. Deepest condolences Donna, John and Miae.

We are so sorry to hear about Merv. Merv was a great friend and supporter at work – we had a blast as he taught me how to navigate Rainy Lake. Jade & Cody have great childhood memories of “Uncle Merv”. Lots of adventures and fun times at Reef Point and on the lake.
RIP my friend.
