On Monday, January 21, 2019, Mr. Michael Edward McKay of Burnaby passed away peacefully at the Burnaby Hospital at the age of 65 years.
He will be fondly remembered by his loving family and friends.

Rest in peace old friend, may your next journey be grand. Thanks for all of the great times, great advice, patience and understanding. You were gone far too soon, but you won’t be forgotten. Hopefully they have Far Cry 4 up there in heaven.

Mike was my friend,family by choice, confidant, voice of reason. We have spent countless hours together fragging it out in unreal tournament, portal, borderlands 2, and many other games we decided to give a whirl. He was Soooo brilliant. Always gave the best advice, and never held back, when you were in the wrong,and needed to be straightened out. He loved his mother very much, and took good care of her up until her passing. He loved to cook, and I’m convinced he was great at it. I never got a chance to meet him in person, but over 12_15 years of knowing someone, you get to know them. I am so proud to say that I was part of Mike’s life, and that he was part of mine. I’ll never forget his voice, or his warm chuckle when something was funny. I’ll never forget you Mike, and there will always be a spot in my heart,where you will live on. I’ll tell Ella all about you! I love ya bud. {FO} for life.

When I met Mike over 15 years ago I was known as the gamer Cleopatra. He always gave me confidence when I was in doubt. We shared a lot of the same interests. I will miss the time we shared together and your laugh. May you be at peace with your mom and cats.

I’ve had the hardest time coming up with the right words to describe such an amazing person. Having met Mike what seems like a lifetime ago, I was fortunate enough to make a great friend and meet one of the most kind and genuine people I’ve ever met. He was always there when you needed someone to listen, offered great advice and was just a pleasure to have a conversation with. You will be sorely missed, hope to see you again up there! I know you’ve left some great memories for me and many others, rest in peace my friend.
